What is Nepal Unites?
Nepal Unites is a youth movement for hope and reconciliation. A chapter of the Global Unites. Nepal Unites movement began in 2018 in Nepal. Nepal Unites is a national youth-led movement that connects youth from different faith, different religions, different ethnicity, and backgrounds to inspire and connect them with peacebuilding and leadership skills to become a sustainable agent of transforming the nation.
Nepal Unites work for a new generation of peacebuilder, work for hope, peace, youth leadership, nonviolence, reconciliation, conflict transformation, and grassroots movement. We focus on self-transformation.
Our Story
Nepal is an agricultural country and landlocked country between India in the south and China (Tibet) at the north situated at the lap of the Himalayas. It’s a BIRTHPLACE OF Gautam Buddha and the land of Mt. Everest.
Nepal suffered from a civil war that lasted from 1996 to 2006 that killed around 13,000 people. This 10-year conflict brought tragedy for many families: thousands of people were killed and many went missing.
In the present context of Nepal, inter-religious conflict occurs between Hindus, Christians, and Muslims and has resulted in creating a rift between these religions. Geographical discrimination, sexual violence, and gender-based violence are prevalent. This inspired the establishment of Nepal Unites which seeks to create unity and engage people from diverse backgrounds because we believe that youth can transform the nation.

Message from Founder & National Director
Nepal Unites (NU) is a chapter of Global Unites which is running in 13 countries as a youth movement and it has been legally registered with the Government of Nepal in the District Administration Office in Kathmandu, Bagmati Province, as a non-profit organization and non-governmental organization (NGO) although we do not introduce the organization as an NGO. I am proud that Nepal Unites is a youth movement because youth are the pillar of our nation with more than 40 percent of the population being youth in the country. We have many examples in which the youth have engaged in rallies, political strikes and so on. We focus on the youth as the next generation of peacebuilders and as our only possibility for transformation. The youth are innovative and have new ideas, concepts, courage, skills and high energy to bring about needed changes.That’s why we say YOUTH CAN!

Why people love us
I am youth representative from Muslim community, working as a province coordinator in Nepal Unites and I have the opportunity to share my thoughts and my learning knowledge to my diverse team. I feel also develop my learning skills from Nepal Unites during the various activities and whatever support from my side I am always committed to work together with Nepal Unites.
Nepal Unities is a driving force for the betterment of life for all in Nepal and the world at large. The engagement of youth in workshops and training that strengthens the voices of the citizens of Nepal and helps to ensure a safe, more equal society overall. Workshops in conflict transformation, how to make women equal, and so many others that will give the future of Nepal a brighter and more inclusive society that accepts everyone as equal humans and treated with respect. I fully support Nepal Unities. This organization is ensuring a positive future and inclusive of all people .
While I am not very familiar with the specific programs of Nepal Unites, I do know its Founder and National Director, Mohammad Ayatulla Rahaman, who is very devoted to youth and is committed to promoting diversity and building meaningful relationships between people with different religious backgrounds and ethnicities. He is also a person who is dedicated to working for peace that is rooted in justice. Thus, I feel confident that Nepal Unites is a movement that will encourage the country’s youth from many diverse backgrounds to embrace these values in order to nurture and transform Nepalese society to become a communion of diverse communities that respect and care for each other.
I am so overwhelmed to be part of Nepal Unites Alumni. As I was always seeking for best platform to explore different people with different moral and culture, I found NU is the best platform for youths like me. I got such an amazing opportunities to express my opinions and to represent our country Nepal on Global platform. This has been an amazing experience for me. Being a NU Alumni I am inspired to give my best for Nepal Unites movement on upcoming days.
As a member of Nepal Unites, I have had numerous opportunities to express my ideas and learn from the diverse team and culture. I’ve had a lot of experiences that are crucial to our cause. In addition, I’ve learnt how to interact with people of different religions and castes and live happily and peacefully while respecting their respective religious beliefs. I made a heartfelt commitment to collaborate with Nepal Unites.
