Nepal Unites Empowers Youth in Saptari Through Organizational Development Program

Rajbiraj , April,2025: Nepal Unites organized an Organizational Development Program in Rajbiraj, Saptari to strengthen its internal systems and build a clearer long-term vision for youth-led social change. The program brought together committed members to reflect on the movement’s journey and plan the next steps for the future.

During the program, members had discussions on capacity building, leadership development, and designing impactful programs. They focused on how to make future activities more sustainable and closely connected to Nepal Unites’ mission and vision. A major part of the session was about financial planning, where members learned about raising resources, being transparent with funds, and working with local partners to support their work.

The importance of strong teamwork and good communication within the organization was also highlighted. Members agreed that these are key for successfully growing the movement and making a difference at the grassroots level.

Mr. Shivdatta Sah, the Ward Representative from the local government, joined the gathering and shared inspiring words. He appreciated Nepal Unites’ work in engaging young people and committed to support the movement by allocating part of the local government’s budget in the next fiscal year. His commitment showed how important it is for local leaders and youth movements to work together for positive change.

“Nepal Unites is a youth movement; it’s a platform for change that we need in our communities. I appreciated the efforts of Nepal Unites in empowering youth, community people and fostering peace, unity, and grassroots transformation. I am committed to supporting this movement and will ensure that a portion of our ward budget is allocated to help sustain and expand their work in the next fiscal year.”

United Community Takes a Stand Against Dowry

March, Mahottari : With the leadership of our dedicated volunteer, Ms. Gulishta Parveen from Muslim community, Nepal Unites successfully organized an “Interaction with Parents Against the Dowry System” as part of our community engagement program in Simsi-3, Bairagiya, Mahottari, Madhesh Province.

The event brought together 28 participants, including 7 men and 21 women, to address the deeply entrenched practice of dowry and its harmful impact on families, particularly women and marginalized communities. Participants courageously shared personal experiences, shedding light on the emotional and financial burdens caused by dowry-related traditions in Madhesh.

A key takeaway from the discussion was a powerful collective commitment from all participants:

“If we stand united as a community, we can end the dowry system.”

This powerful commitment marks a significant step towards social transformation. Nepal Unites continues to stand up for grassroots movements, fostering awareness, and empowering communities to stand against social injustices. Through such initiatives, we envision a society rooted in equality, dignity, and mutual respect, ensuring a just and thriving future for all.
